Karen Björg is the newest old (she also worked at the Icelandic version) member of the NUDE team. She is 24 years and lives in downtown Reykjavík. She’ll graduate with a Bachelors degree in psychology this spring. Besides being a student, Karen works as a stand-up comedian and a bagsitter for Burberry, Lanvin, and Loewe among other beautiful things at Galleria, a store in Reykjavík.
“I would describe my style in one word as Scandinavian. More tomboyish than girly. Being Icelandic and all I would not dress in many popping colours but I’m slowly getting there! I bought red shoes and a crazy black and blue fur dress the other day, so that’s something. I seek my style inspiration on Instagram from people like Caro Daur, Alexa Chung, and Chloe Sevigny. Wearing beautiful and stylish clothes and accessories really help when performing as silly as it may sound.
The sale on Net-A-Porter is a special holiday for me, but I also love love love vintage stores and wear many things my mother wore when she was my age and hasn’t thrown out (#blessyouhoardermom).”
Karen’s favourite pieces at the moment are her Tom Ford bag and the red shoes (although she’s waiting for the same pair in white from Asos). She also just purchased two chairs named Drop by Arne Jacobsen which can also be seen in the picture. Although style usually comes first in fashion, comfort is a crucial one when it comes to interior designing the apartment. The Drop is one of those designs that have both.
“I’m very excited about writing for NUDE again. I love a good fashion magazine that’s equally professional and humorous”
