The story goes that these fresh waters popular among both men and women were invented by the Italian Giovanni Paolo Feminis in Cologne.
These refreshingly fragrant alcoholic lotions, made from herbs and citrus fruits such as lemon, bergamot and mandarin, were more of a medicine than a refined fragrance at the time. This miraculous water was used for its tonic effects.
Today, they are faceted with woody and musky notes to give us more depth, contrast and hold.
What does neroli smell like?
Like the orange blossom, its cousin, neroli has thousands of faces. It can be floral, green, or honeyed but also powdery. It brings a more lemony facet than the orange blossom. The bigarade orange tree is a real treasure from which the perfumer extracts many raw materials: the essence of the orange, the essence of the branches and twigs which gives the petit grain and that of the flower called neroli.
What does jasmine bring?
Here, the jasmine flower leaves behind a floral, luminous trail and a touch of sensuality. It is called white gold. This starry flower with its sunny and sensual undertones takes us on a journey to India, Egypt or France, especially to Grasse. Like the rose, it is the star flower of this region.
What does white amber smell like?
The note of amber smells good vanilla, benzoin … Sweet, enveloping and warm notes. Here, the perfumer has imagined a “white” amber facet, which is a softer and less sensual version.
